I spent nine years working at McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond Virginia as a music therapist, Integrative Health Coach, and meditation facilitator.  That taught me that veterans are an amazing group, varied, but knowing, or having known, a profound connection to their fellow service men and woman.  Many of the deepest wounds of war appear to me to be a loss of that connection (see Sebastions Yunger's "Tribe").  Understanding that, and learning to establish connection to oneself and others outside of the day to day structure of the military is a first step towards returning home from war.
